Camp Laugh-A-Lot provides a seven-week integrated camp for a fun, interactive environment promoting fundamental skill development to build self-esteem, create relationships, and encourage communication techniques for individuals of all ages. Camp Laugh-A-Lot not only provides a direct service to individuals, but also provides families and caregivers with much-needed respite from the daily responsibilities of caring for a person with special needs. This program is provided through a camp lead by well-trained counselors. This program is unique because it is the only day camp left in Washington County that is open to anyone with intellectual and developmental disabilities over the age of five and provides the needed low camper to counselor ratio to ensure a safe and engaging camp experience. The results of this program are formed from surveys the parents and counselors fill out to obtain information on the development of the individual.
Recovery and Mental Health
This program provides curriculum materials for mental health and wellness support to better assist skill building for residents in our Washington group homes. The Recovery and Mental Health Program is provided through a community residential rehabilitation program in two facilities that individuals find through a county referral. This program is unique because there is no other licensed CRR program in Washington County. The outcome of this program is to provide a toolkit from which to draw resources, building blocks, and techniques to help individuals with their recovery plan.
